The Art of Meetings That Do More : New Directions Collaborative Workshop Series

October 11, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$100
  • « Systems Practice: Learn to use a systems thinking approach to move from “impossible” to impact
  • Farm to School as a Catalyst to Local Food System Change »
A workshop and practice series for working collaboratively to catalyze change With the challenges we face, we need to shift from working in isolated silos to working together so all voices are heard and the whole becomes more than the sum of the parts. Collaboration is an art, but the skills and methods can be learned. Imagine leaving a meeting feeling inspired, energized by new ideas, with enhanced goodwill toward your colleagues and a shared sense of clarity on where to go next. At this workshop, you will learn practical tools for creating meetings that deliver multiple benefits. Key topics include:
  • How to clarify the strategic context and range of outcomes for a meeting
  • How to frame strategic questions for the group to explore
  • An introduction to, and experience of, several participatory methods
  • How to structure an agenda with samples of agenda designs
Beth Tener of New Directions Collaborative will facilitate, sharing methods she has practiced in work with over 150 organizations and collaborative initiatives, concerning socially responsible business, sustainability, local food systems, education, climate action, racial equity, and transportation. This workshop is the first in a series. You can attend one or more. Its intention is to inspire, recharge, and “re-source” people, particularly in these intense times. We chose a special location for the event – the Seacoast Science Center, located in Ordione State Park, overlooking the ocean. It is located about 15 minutes south of Portsmouth, NH and an hour north of Boston. Following the afternoon workshop, we invite the group to take a walk by the ocean to continue the conversations. Workshop fee is $100. Please click on HERE to register. If this fee is a barrier to participating, please contact Beth at btener@ndcollaborative.com – discounts are available to make this accessible to all interested.
