SUMMARY:Sustaining the Leadership of Black Women Chief Executives: The Role of the Board in Aligning Accountability and Action
DESCRIPTION:As civil rights protections and equity initiatives face increasing challenges\, nonprofit and philanthropic organizations are navigating a moment of profound uncertainty. At the same time\, many institutions are being led by an unprecedented number of Black leaders and leaders of color\, particularly Black women\, who often face heightened scrutiny\, bias\, and unequal expectations while carrying the responsibilities of leadership. \nThis webinar will feature a candid conversation on the experiences of Black women chief executives\, drawing on themes from Equity In The Center’s documentary examining the relationship between EIC’s Board of Directors and CEO Kerrien Suarez. Through reflections on leadership\, accountability\, emotional labor\, and board responsibility\, panelists will explore the unique challenges Black women leaders encounter and the role organizations play in creating conditions for their success. Participants will be invited to consider how boards and institutions can move beyond awareness toward greater accountability\, equity\, and shared responsibility. \n  \nRegister here.
