How to Connect

Dr. Naava L. Frank is a seasoned consultant and facilitator with extensive experience creating, sustaining, and scaling Communities of Practice (CoPs) for non-profits, foundations, and educational institutions. She brings a strong network engagement and knowledge-sharing background, working across diverse sectors to foster peer learning, collaboration, and innovation. 

As Director of Knowledge Communities, Dr. Frank has consulted on numerous high-impact projects, including her multi-year role as a Strategic Advisor and Facilitation Mentor at Purpose Built Communities, where she supports staff leading a CoP focused on breaking the cycle of intergenerational poverty, funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. She also serves as a Coach and Strategic Advisor in a multi-year project at the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, leading efforts to increase educational attainment and economic development in Georgia’s most underserved communities, funded by the ECMC Foundation. 

She helps client networks overcome competitive barriers, fostering collaborative learning environments, and developing shared standards and practices for organizational improvement. 

Dr. Frank holds an Ed.D. from Harvard University and a B.A. from Barnard College. Her thought leadership is evident in her numerous publications and presentations on CoPs and networks, including two book chapters and a recent white paper with Purpose-Built Communities. 

Dr. Frank’s career seamlessly blends strategic consulting with hands-on coaching and implementation support, making her a sought-after expert in community-building and collaborative learning strategies.
