Amy Moritz is an experienced consultant who guides organizations to discover and realize their potential for lasting social change through consulting, training, facilitation, and coaching. Her approach is rooted in assets and strengths-based methods, network science, strategy development, community engagement, and qualitative evaluation and learning models. Amy is passionate about collaboration, participatory leadership, and seeing collective wisdom and action emerge.
Amy brings nearly three decades of experience developing leaders for faith communities and nonprofits. In addition to leading multiple nonprofits in Memphis, TN, Amy has led projects across the United States specializing in community engagement and participatory processes that lead to shared ownership, empowerment and change that is sustainable and transformative. Recent/current clients include Rio Texas Conference UMC, Tennessee Conference UMC, Memphis Theological Seminary, Austin Seminary, New Castle Presbytery, Mid-Atlantic Conference of the UCC, Agape Child and Family Services, and the Aiken and Greenville (South Carolina) Departments of Public Safety.
Amy began first using network science and visualization in 2013 alongside churches and disinvested neighborhoods in Memphis who were seeking to strengthen their communities. Amy’s expertise in the implementation of network strategies has grown as the field has evolved leading to her participation as a member of the core team that stewards the global System Systems Mapping Community of Practice. Recent/current Social System Mapping clients include Welcoming Neighbors Network, Greater than the Sum, and Tennessee Western-Kentucky Conference UMC.
Amy holds a BS in Engineering Technology from the University of Memphis, an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology, and a Master of Art in Religion from Memphis Theological Seminary.
