Are you interested in how networks can make a difference in the world?

I’m June Holley, and for more than thirty years I’ve been weaving networks — in neighborhoods, across regions, at the scale of networks of networks. My book, the Network Weaver Handbook, has made its way into the hands of practitioners all over the world, and since it was published I’ve continued to study how networks support real, lasting change.

With partners Ari Sahagún and Charles Blass, we’ve just launched a site and set of offerings to share our experience of the field: The Network Weaving Institute.

The knowledge that could help networks transform already exists — it’s found in the experience of people doing this work, all over the world. But it’s scattered, undocumented, and hard to locate when you need it. Network Weaving Institute (NWI) is our attempt to address this gap: It’s a home for the tools, frameworks, case examples, and insights we’ve gathered from decades in the field, organized to bring to your projects, networks, and communities of practice. Over the next few months and moving forward, we’ll be sharing additional resources we’ve developed and discovered over the years that you can immediately use in your networks. Please stop by and download the first batch of free resources now available.

And, please, if you have any resources you’d be willing to share, please email [email protected] and we’ll be glad to share them as well!

NWI Question Garden

What’s the network question you’ve never quite found a good answer to?

Starting this month, we’re opening up live Q&A sessions, and you’re invited to co-grow our Question Garden 🌱❔🌱❔🌱! This is your chance to bring questions about networks, network weaving and transformation, and Network Weaving Institute partners and I will provide insights, suggestions and resources from our journeys. Then we’ll open the floor for everyone to exchange stories and offer experiences to the mix.

When you register for the session, you can add a question or describe an immediate challenge. We’ll aggregate these and try to address them all, either during the session or in follow-up posts.

Each session opens with brief breakout introductions. Then we lay out the first question, initially sharing our thoughts and then moving into the group’s responses. We’ll go through as many topics as we can during the hour we have together. The Question Garden closes with breakout rooms where you’ll have a chance to consider how you might apply something you learned in the session to your network or project.

Recordings will be available on the NWI YouTube channel, which is why we ask for your permission to record when you register.

I’m especially excited about our next step: Not only are we responding to questions, we are gathering and sharing forward the experiences contributed by attendees. Everyone’s inputs will be synthesized into the Question Garden Responses page on the NWI site, so network weavers can come any time to get suggestions.

Sign up here — and if you already know your question, add it upon registering. I’d love a preview.
