Katy is passionate about participatory change-making approaches that account for the complexity of multiple, interconnectedness crises and diverse lived experiences. She brings thoughtful and committed partnership to social sector clients advancing transformative systems change, drawing on expertise in social change strategy, facilitation and group process, equity, systems theory, somatics, collaborative networks, and organizational development. In addition to process expertise, her work is informed by strong content knowledge in economic justice, food & farming, water issues, rural equity, and climate change.
Katy is a Fellow of the Academy for Systems Change, Senior Partner at Ag Innovations, a facilitation coach with UFacilitate, and a member of the Network Weaver Consultants Network. She has an MSc in Holistic Science (with Distinction) from Schumacher College in the UK and a BSc (Honours, First Class) in Physical Geography from McGill University in Montreal. Katy lives in a land-based intentional community in Northern California, where she has honed her consensus decision-making skills over the past 20 years.
She previously served as Director of Programs at Ag Innovations, Fellow of the Oakland Institute, and Director of the US Local Food Program at the International Society for Ecology and Culture (now Local Futures). Katy has supported and learned from traditional farming communities on four continents.
