Creating Powerful Transformation Systems for Collective Impact Symposium
About this event
DESCRIPTION
Transformation is required to move from the exploitive and extractive logic of our current structures, to ways that understand humans as part of nature, not separate from it; that value all people; and that aim for social justice and ecological flourishing. However, the scale, complexity and time horizon associated with transformation are daunting. Work over 40 years with transformation challenges has produced strategies to develop powerful transformation systems as a core collective impact framework. Such systems comprise the totality of efforts to move an issue, opportunity or geography in a similar direction. Six particular activities, replete with numerous tools and methods, are core to collective development of efforts as powerful transformation systems. The workshop will draw in particular from current work with the global seafood and the European health systems.
OBJECTIVE
- I aim to inspire them with new possibilities to deal with the scale, complexity and time duration associated with transformation. The goal is that they will find ways to incorporate some of the ideas into their own work, to enhance their collective impact and transformation potential.
