Networks are the incredible, invisible forces with the potential to reshape our world.
Thousands of movements, cooperatives, ecosystems, communities of practice, and alumni associations are tirelessly leveraging the power of relationships to spark deep and sustainable change.
This is no more true than in the dynamic landscape of educational reform, where networks at global and local levels are leveraging collaboration to:
- Connect peers of teachers and school administrators to exchange skills, discover emerging trends in education, and rethink their own practices
- Foster student-to-student learning environments for youth to act as role models, teach and support each other, and strengthen collaborative leadership skills
- Extend education into the community, engaging networks of parents, museums, youth centers to ensure learning doesn’t start and stop in the classroom
- Reshape policy dialogues and influence societal ideas through movement-building around what constitutes good education
Yet despite this potential, most education networks remain on the sidelines, misunderstood and underfunded, and disconnected from one another.
Their critical work of facilitating collaboration through relationships often remains invisible – and these great initiatives have few spaces to learn from each other, exchange insights and best practices, or understand complex policies and “scale” initiatives together.
Enter the Networks Mosaics
We believe that by shedding light on these education networks – and connecting them to each other – we can:
- Bridge academic, practitioner & indigenous knowledge to grasp complex education systems & policies
- Connect learnings and aggregate data to build collective cases for “what works” in education transformation
- Scale great education innovations through collaborative, decentralized approaches
- Mobilize new funding for networks and movements to support their great work
- Engage in broad-scale advocacy campaigns to shift the education sector around the globe
No speakers! Just you!
On Jan 24, the International Day of Education, hosted at this year’s Learning Planet Festival, we are inviting education movements, networks, and funders to join the Fito Network’s signature “Obstacle Course”, where we come together for:
- 📚 Rapid storytelling around significant changes we have witnessed in transforming education
- 📈 Mapping key opportunities, needs, gaps, and challenges across education networks
- 🔮 Co-creating pathways for collaboration for systemic change
At the Fito Network, we leverage the power of play to open mindsets, build relationships, and identify creative solutions – while having fun together. Our obstacle courses challenge groups in specific fields of work to climb, crawl, and navigate systemic barriers – with the goal of finding new ways of interacting, to do things together we were otherwise unable to do alone.
Why might I participate?
This event is for you if you’re passionate about transforming education and want to:
