Free Online Workshop: Regenerative Evaluation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) has become a ubiquitous effort in workplaces and organisations, yet each one of us has our own understanding, context and experiences. What really is DEI and how do we know if we are achieving it? 

To make sense of these types of questions, we often rely on evaluations, metrics and measurements. Yet this can lead to challenges and tensions that actually undermine DEI, such as when we choose metrics that are too simplistic or when the evaluation approach itself is not inclusive and participatory. 

So what truly matters in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives in organisations – and how can we measure and evaluate it in a regenerative way?

What might stand in our way to make space for meaningful evaluation? ​​​​​​​

Join us on Zoom for a free workshop on “Regenerative evaluation of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)”. Over 90 minutes we will:

• Hear from different inquirers – practitioners who have been involved with DEI or inclusive evaluation – about their experiences. 
• Learn about models and tools to support you with understanding DEI as a practice, and how to evaluate if you are making progress. 
• Share and learn from each other’s experiences, and enter a dialogue to hear others perspectives on what they wonder about evaluation of  DEI. 

This workshop is part of a collaboration between the Present of Work and Unity Effect. 

The Present of Work

The Present of Work (tPOW) is a women-and-BIPOC-owned consulting collective committed to the daily practice of diversity: of identities, ideas, approaches, abilities– and to collaborating across these types of differences in ways that prize integrity, effectiveness, and interdependence. Our work centres on a fresh approach to organisational development. We see our role (as facilitators and coaches) as rooted in enabling effective learning spaces, communication skills, navigation of conflict, building trust and collaboration, and promoting clear roles and processes among teams and management. 

Unity Effect

Unity Effect is a social enterprise and network of facilitators and change catalysts, based in Germany and working internationally. We work together with purpose-driven leaders, organisations, foundations and networks who are contributing to a more sustainable, just and thriving world. 

We design evaluation processes and practices in such a way that they foster dialogue and mutual understanding. Regenerative evaluation can be a deeply empowering process that reveals hidden opportunities and structural challenges, creating empathy between groups of people (further details outlined in the blog article on The Art of Measuring Change).
