LIVING INTO COLLECTIVE GOVERNANCE
July 11 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
This summer, we are excited to offer a Clinic series building upon the wisdom and learnings of our inaugural Clinics and WeGovern Learning Community. We invite you to join us in the practice of collective governance as we weave a story of thriving for ourselves and generations to come.
Session Dates: July 11th, July 18th, July 25th, August 1st
Time: 12-2 PT/ 3-5 ET
High Level
Emphasis on grounding in place with local lands, waters, plants, animals, and other beings. Grounding in our relationships and the people we’re practicing governance with (or are working toward practicing with). Getting out into our homes, neighborhoods, workplaces, communities to witness and partake in the governance happening around us. Taking the practice beyond online gatherings.
Emphasis on practice—physical and creative. Getting (back) intouch with our own bodies/embodied wisdom and creative centers through somatic invitations, breath work, creative and arts-based prompts, and engagement with others inside Resonance Network as a practice of peer learning and shared knowledge production.
OVERVIEW
Who We Are: Resonance Network is a network of over 3,000 Black, Indigenous, immigrant, women, femme, trans, and two-spirit people and their co-conspirators who are building a world beyond violence—a world rooted in mutual care, where all people live in dignity, and all beings can thrive.
As survivors, healers, leaders, practitioners, and storytellers, we know a world beyond violence is possible and within reach. Together, we are in the practice of envisioning what that world looks and feels like, then mapping out the steps it will take for each of us to bring that world into being. Through practice, we develop our capacity to create the conditions, cultures, and systems we’ll be proud to leave to our descendants. This is why, amidst compounding crises and grief, Resonance Network came together to dream up a foundational set of agreements that would become the WeGovern principles.
WeGovern in Practice: WeGovern is a bold reimagining and reclamation of governance, shaped by a rich history of Indigenous wisdom and practice rooted in care for land, natural resources, and collective well-being. We understand governance as the means by which we individually, collectively, and systematically care for people and place, including the Earth which sustains us. And we know that through shared learning and practice, we reconnect with our own capacity to govern, as well as develop the knowledge and experience to move through the growing pains that come with transforming our lived experiences.
Invitation to Practice with Us: This Summer, we are excited to offer a Clinic series which builds upon the wisdom and learnings of our inaugural Clinics and WeGovern Learning Community. We invite you to join us in the practice of collective governance as we weave a story of thriving for ourselves and generations to come.
