Raising Funds for Social Impact
July 26, 2021 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Please join the Changemaker Institute in committing to creating a better world by building sustainable social enterprises and businesses.
If you’re in the business of creating social impact, you’d know that sustaining a social enterprise has its unique challenges. Two of the biggest challenges as a social entrepreneur are, first, creating social and environmental solutions that are impactful, and second, being financially sustainable as a business.
The Changemaker Institute is hosting a series of live events this summer for social enterprises and social entrepreneurs on how to create social impact and be financially sustainable.
Our mission is to bridge academic research in law, ethics, and economics with the business world so that change makers, social entrepreneurs, authors, speakers, and coaches can have tools and frameworks to help them build and grow their businesses and impact society in positive ways. Everybody can be a change maker.
We hope to see you and learn about you, your business, and your social impact work at our events.
Details for the event on Monday, July 26: Raising Funds for Social Impact
Social impact projects have a special way of inspiring us because we can create the world we want to live in. These projects give us the opportunity to change lives and communities through our programs, outreach, and products or services. Many times, the question isn’t how to create impact.
It’s: how do we fund a project that creates social impact?
There are a few ways to raise funds and your fundraising strategy should come down to knowing your project intimately. Your project should determine how you raise funds. Not the other way around. Here are some funding vehicles to explore:
– patient capital loans
crowd-funding
– social impact grants
– incubator or accelerator funding
– demand dividend
– government funding
– pay-for-progress or social impact bonds
– variable payment options
– corporate CSR funds
Jurie Van Rensberg, the Chairman & CEO of JVR Consultants Ltd, who has successfully raised funds for social impact projects over the world and accumulated over 25 years of international experience and network across the UK, South Africa and various African countries, will join us in the discussion.
